Shift Afterwork: Apple Vision Pro Unveiled

Shift Afterwork: Apple Vision Pro Unveiled

Yesterday, I attended the Shift Afterwork: Apple Vision Pro Unveiled event, organized by In The Pocket.

The event started with an engaging overview of VR/AR developments by Frederik De Bosschere, followed by a testimonial from Dieter Vanhooren, who tested the Apple Vision Pro for 24 hours.

Roel Van Gils and Peter Vermaercke discussed the accessibility of the Apple Vision Pro. Roel inspired me with his story of walking through Albert Heijn with his Ray-Ban Meta and being unable to read the ingredients for a recipe. He asked his glasses to take a photo and tell him which ingredients he still needed — and it succeeded. While this is not currently a function of the Apple Vision Pro, it exemplifies how smart products like this can positively influence people's future.

Finally, there was a panel discussion with Roland Legrand and Kim Wéry about the future of the Apple Vision Pro on the tech radar.

The event broadened my perspective on the Apple Vision Pro and AR in general. It highlighted not only technological progress but also the potential of Apple Vision Pro to improve our lives. While it does not yet have all desired features, it remains a promising tool with enormous potential.
